THIRTY YEARS after receiving an MFA in Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art, I am returning to my alma mater to study towards a second MFA in Photography. It is exhilarating to find that, even at age 65, there is still time and opportunity to learn, grow, and develop new skills. Although I still practice and teach graphic design, from this point forward, most of the work I post to this site will be from my activities within Cranbrook’s MFA in Photography program.
European Photography Issue 110, the latest issue of the esteemed magazine, featured six images from my series The New Machinery alongside a short interview. I am grateful to publisher Andreas Müller-Pohle, who I had met in 2018 at Fotofest in Houston. He reviewed my work and he kept it in mind for this special black-and-white issue.
