Delta Dental commissioned me to create a series of large photographic panels to be installed on five floors of their Oakland corporate headquarters. From the subway underground to surface landscape to architecture and then skyward, each group focuses on successive layers of information that surround the downtown building. Nearly 6,000 photographs were taken, printed, and assembled by hand to create the final energetic artwork. The success of this project led to a second commission for Delta Dental’s San Francisco headquarters in 2020. After Delta Hex was completed and installed, I fashioned a series of cropped details into a portfolio of inkjet prints.
