These collaborations with artist and collector Barbara Levine began with our mutual interest in uncovering and archiving anonymous snapshots. I had worked with Barbara on many book, catalog and publication projects including Camera Era. From these projects we began to examine how details from our combined collections could build a meditation on geography, connection, and personal history. Interspersed in these constructions are slices from my abstract color photography, jolting the work out of nostalgia and into the present.
