Ed Hardy’s reputation in the world of tattoo art is unparalleled. This exhibition and its catalog push far beyond his well-known body art into his multifaceted practice: painting, printmaking, installation, and product design. For the book’s typography, I superimposed bits of vintage engraving to boldly tattoo large letterforms, as small elements from Hardy’s stable of characters dance throughout the pages.
