In the latest installment of “The New Machinery,” my ongoing series of photographic science fiction, I introduce new elements, new staging, and new organizing strategies to complicate the relationship between viewer and tableau. Each image is composed of a multitude of smaller photo prints pieced together by hand and then translated back into a digital format. I often toggle between analog and digital processes in my work.
